A LOT of me getting better at art is easily due to discovering the Crimson Daggers group and just SEEING how much work it takes to get better, of the top of my head people like Sam Carr, Marius Bota, John Silva, Mike Azevedo, Forrest Imel, Mike Jones, Dave Rapoza, Dan Warren and everyone else in the Crimson Daggers showed me the work ethic to get better. as months went by of neglecting there method, i decided to listen and stop being a Douche, and honestly nothing works better then DISSECT, STUDY, APPLY.
A BIG turning point for me this years was during the 6weeks school holiday, when i decide to make myself a schedule(something i never ever do) and stick to it and study for at least 5hrs everyday. for me this was a test of waking up early start at 10am and just working hard, this helped me get a grasp of what it would be like working on my own without school. im happy to say i stuck with it, and even at the end of my schedule felt like i havent done enough and drew more.
Getting closer to the end of the year, things did get a bit shady as i saw young artist approaching freelance work, and i felt like i was behind. and thinking about what i want to do with art and if i still want to be a concept artist. next year still scares me a lot and im still scared of freelancing and deadlines, but i want to work on getting better and making a portfolio first.
my aims for next year is to get featured in ImagineFX magazine
create a portfolio
and get freelance work because im not going Uni.
i feel this year has been my biggest improvement, and i started to understand how to study art which for me is the biggest thing ill take away from 2012
